On Tuesday, the Los Angeles Lakers built a double-digit lead against the Utah Jazz, but just as it seemed they were on their way to an easy win, their lead dissolved.
All of a sudden, they were on the verge of a very disappointing loss that could’ve all but cost them an opportunity to finish sixth in the Western Conference.
Luckily, LeBron James picked the right time to summon his competitive greatness.
He scored 14 points down the stretch, including the game-winning shot in overtime, and he finished with 37 points to ensure a 135-133 victory that kept L.A. within striking distance of bypassing the play-in tournament.

Fans on Twitter were thoroughly impressed with what James did in Salt Lake City.

Everyone is talking about the LeBron James game winner, but LeBron tying the game with a 3 to start OT might have been an even BIGGER shot.

dude.. i just realized lebron's OT was #insane
>down 3? hits the 27-foot fade with shot clock winding down
>then comes back down to give them the lead
>back down 1? two ft's to get the lead back
>jazz tie it up? hit the game winner and go home— ᴅʀ. ᴍᴏᴏѕᴇ (@phillvmikan) April 5, 2023
LeBron James has now hit 40 career shots within 30 seconds or less in the fourth quarter. That is tied with Kobe Bryant for most in NBA history.
He also has the most game winners in playoff history.
