Whether it was the Los Angeles Lakers‘ biggest win of the season is debatable, but the victory over the Utah Jazz will go down as an important one.
A day removed from losing to the Denver Nuggets by 37 points, one of the worst losses of the season, the Lakers responded with one of their best wins, beating a top team in the Western Conference, Utah.
The Jazz came in with the highest-scoring offense in the league and the Lakers with one of the worst defenses, especially without Anthony Davis. However, L.A. held Utah to 95 points, about 20 short of its average.
LeBron James led the way with 25 points, but Stanley Johnson, Austin Reaves, Malik Monk and Talen Horton-Tucker (they are the only reserves who played) all came up huge in the win, primarily Johnson’s 15-point display on 7-of-9 shooting.
