After giving up 75 points to the Chicago Bulls through the first two quarters, it looked like the Golden State Warriors were headed towards their third consecutive loss. However, Klay Thompson came to the rescue in the third quarter on Friday night.
Coming out of halftime, Thompson caught fire, scoring 17 points on 5-of-6 shooting from the field with five made 3-pointers in the third quarter alone. Behind Thompson’s red-hot shooting, the Warriors outscored the Bulls 48-20 in the third quarter to take a 15-point lead heading into the final frame.
While the Bulls attempted a late swing of their own, Steph Curry and Thompson were able to hold off DeMar DeRozan and Zach LaVine down the stretch to secure a much-needed 140-131 win in Chicago.
Thompson notched a team-high 30 points on 9-of-19 shooting from the field with seven made 3-pointers in 34 minutes against the Bulls. His fellow Splash Brother, Curry, added 27 points with six made 3-pointers.
Jonathan Kuminga thrived off the bench, scoring 24 points on 9-of-12 shooting from the field with five rebounds in 24 minutes.
Following the Warriors’ win over the Bulls to start their four-game road trip, the NBA community on Twitter chimed in with reactions. Here’s a look at what fans and analysts were saying on social media on Friday night.

Kerr called this Kuminga's best game, not because of the four 3's but because of his "spirit and energy." JK came through with 24 points on 9-12, 4-4, plus 5 rebs.

The Warriros committed just 5 turnovers (39 assists) ties a franchise record low for fewest in game, per @WarriorsPR

BP is getting good looks but is now 9 of 32 from the field since the loss to the Nuggets on 1/4. Rookie wall?

I see Kuminga and Wiggins played tonight like they know they are but a few weeks from being in another state, or country.
