NBA Twitter reacts to Jordan Poole leading shorthanded Warriors to upset win vs. Heat

On the second leg of a back-to-back, the Golden State Warriors made the decision to rest Draymond Green, Klay Thompson and Otto Porter Jr. The trio of veterans added to the absence of Steph Curry, Andre Iguodala and Andre Iguodala.

Without several key core pieces, the Warriors needed to lean on Jordan Poole for any chance of an upset against the Eastern Conference-leading Miami Heat on Wednesday night.

The 22-year-old guard answered the bell.

After the Warriors were able to keep the game tied through two quarters, Poole helped fuel a 19-0 run to start the third quarter. While the Heat were able to chip away at the Warriors’ lead throughout the second half, Poole, Damion Lee and Andrew Wiggins seemed to always have an answer in South Beach.

For his 11th consecutive game with over 20 points, Poole dropped a game-high 30 points on 10-of-18 shooting with seven triples, nine assists and four rebounds in 39 minutes.

Lee added 22 points on 5-of-10 shooting from the floor with six boards and three assists in 31 minutes off the bench. Wiggins tacked on another 22 points, including a late flurry to help close out the Heat, 118-104.

After Poole led the Warriors past Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, Kyle Lowry and the Heat, the NBA community on Twitter exploded with different reactions. Here’s a look at what fans and analysts were saying on Wednesday night.
