The matchup for the 2022 NBA Finals is officially set. To decide the NBA championship, the Golden State Warriors will meet the Boston Celtics in the 2022 edition of the Finals.
After eliminating the Dallas Mavericks in Game 5 of the Western Conference finals, the Warriors have been waiting for the winner of the Eastern Conference finals between the Miami Heat and Celtics.
On Sunday, the Celtics survived the Heat in a Game 7 battle, 120-110. Jayson Tatum scored a game-high 32 points to earn the inaugural Larry Bird Eastern Conference Finals MVP award.
Following the Celtics being crowned Eastern Conference champions, attention turned to the matchup between Golden State and Boston.
During the regular season, the Celtics and Warriors split their series with one win each. Golden State stole the first matchup in Boston with Steph Curry scoring 30 points and Andrew Wiggins tallying 27 points. In the second game between the Warriors and Celtics in San Francisco, Tatum and Jaylen Brown led Boston to a road win with 26 points each.
