It is no secret that the Golden State Warriors are actively browsing the NBA trade market. After a hot start to the 2024-25 season, things have cooled off for Steph Curry and company, and the team’s shortcomings have become apparent over the past few weeks. In order to extend their closing championship window, they believe that a move has to be made sooner rather than later.
Warriors Listed At -200 In Jimmy Butler Trade Odds
Jimmy Butler is the name that is on the tip of everyone’s tongue. The 35-year-old star was in the news plenty last week, as it was revealed that the Miami Heat were open to listening to trade offers. That story was coupled with Butler apparently having a list of preferred destinations should he be dealt, and the Warriors were one of the few teams that he mentioned.
And according to the oddsmakers, Golden State is easily the front-runner in the Butler sweepstakes.

BetOnline has a full menu of options when it comes to potential player trades, including wager options for Jimmy Butler. As it stands on Thursday, the Warriors have a designation of -200 to be the eventual trade partner for the Heat. Those are implied odds of over 66%, and easily the lowest figure on the board.
Also on his list were two teams from his native Texas. The budding Houston Rockets are second on the board, having a +200 chance of being the team that trades for Butler. The Dallas Mavericks are further behind, coming in with a figure of +700.
The Magic and Nuggets round out the top-5, both sitting at +800.

Houston Rockets | +200 |
Dallas Mavericks | +700 |
Orlando Magic | +800 |
Denver Nuggets | +800 |
There are questions about what the Warriors would be willing to give up in a potential swap. They made headlines during the most recent off-season when they were apparently hesitant to trade some of their young pieces to bring in a bigger star next to Curry, though things may have changed on that front. Brandin Podziemski has struggled so far this season, and Jonathan Kuminga may be lowering his trade value by struggling with efficiency. Other names that could be included are Andrew Wiggins and Moses Moody.
Golden State made headlines over the weekend with a trade. Guard Dennis Schroeder is the newest member of the team, who has been putting up numbers this year that are just shy of his career highs. He figures to make his debut for the Warriors on Thursday night in Memphis.
