NBA top 30 players listed but LeBron James and Kyrie Irving nowhere to be found

A list of the top 30 players in the NBA from this season has been released with two notable omissions. Both LeBron James and Kyrie Irving have been left off the list, with both still playing at an elite level.

The list, published by Hoops Hype Global Rating has Luka Doncic, Jayson Tatum and Kevin Durant in the top three, with James and Irving nowhere to be seen. Although their teams have not had the success that they're accustomed or expected to, it's fair to say that players remain close to the top of their legendary games.

Through a quarter of the season, James is averaging 27 points, nine rebounds and six assists. Irving meanwhile is averaging 26, five rebounds and five assists.

And although both players statistics suggest they should comfortably be in the top 30, arguably in the top 10 on that alone, the fact that both have missed games this season is likely to be a factor.

Irving missed eight games after he was suspended Irving was suspended by the Brooklyn Nets without pay after he failed to apologise for sharing a link to an antisemitic film on social media.

But the superstar guard is back in action now, and produced a sensational game-winning shot on Friday night as the Nets beat the Toronto Raptors in Canada.

James has dealt with injuries this season which kept him out of seven games, before returning and helping the Lakers to an 8-2 record in first 10 games in December, which has seen them enter the playoff picture.

Doncic (Dallas Mavericks) is atop of the list, with fellow MVP candidate Tatum (Boston Celtics) in second, but some surprising names have been put in the top 20, most notably Shai Gilgeous Alexander (Oklahoma City Thunder) Tyrese Haliburton (Indiana Pacers) and Lauri Markennen (Utah Jazz)
