NBA schedule 2022-23: The key dates from Opening Night to the playoffs beginning

The NBA schedule for the 2022-23 season has dropped, and there’s a lot of intriguing dates to consider.

Yes, yes, we already saw a bunch of the games and dates thrown out already through various reports, including the star-studded Christmas Day game slate.

And we know some of the dates are your standards: Opening night, playoffs, play-ins and so on.

But there are a few more notables that we’ve included in here that popped on Wednesday as the announcement dropped (and right as the LeBron James news about his Lakers extension broke! What timing!).

Let’s run through some of them here:

October 18: Opening night!!

That would be Oct. 18, 2022. We’ve got a couple of great games on that night:

November 8 (Election Day): No games

This is a fantastic addition to the schedule:

December 17: NBA Mexico City Game

The San Antonio Spurs and Miami Heat will face off.

January 19: The Paris Game

The Detroit Pistons and Chicago Bulls will play in France.

January 23: NBA Rivals Week

I dig this idea very much. Lakers-Celtics!

February 17-19: All-Star Weekend

Salt Lake City will play host!

April 9: Final day of the regular season

April 11-14: Play-in Tournament

June 1: NBA Finals Game 1
