The NBA has made several scheduling changes to accommodate games that were postponed due to various natural disasters and weather conditions. Two games that were postponed because of catastrophic wildfires in Southern California have been rescheduled, along with a game that was affected by a winter storm in Atlanta.
The Los Angeles Lakers' home game against the Charlotte Hornets, originally scheduled for January 9, will now take place on February 19. Additionally, the Hornets' visit to the Los Angeles Clippers, which was initially set for January 11, has been rescheduled to March 16. The game between the Atlanta Hawks and Houston Rockets, which was postponed due to the winter storm, will now be played on January 28.
However, a new date for the Lakers' home game against the San Antonio Spurs, which was also postponed, has not been announced yet.
In order to accommodate these changes, the NBA has made several other adjustments to the schedule:
- The Clippers were originally set to host the Chicago Bulls on January 21 and the Washington Wizards on March 16. The Bulls game has been moved up to January 20, while the Wizards game will now take place on January 23.
- The Clippers' trip to Utah, which was scheduled for March 19, has been rescheduled to February 13.
- The Lakers' home game against the Utah Jazz, originally set for February 11, will now be played on February 10.
- The Wizards' game against the Utah Jazz, which was scheduled for January 23, has been moved to March 19.
- Washington's game against the Portland Trail Blazers, initially set for March 18, has been rescheduled to March 17.
These changes aim to ensure that the affected games are played at a later date, allowing teams and fans to adjust their schedules accordingly. For more information and updates on NBA scheduling changes, you can visit the official NBA website.
