Well, that didn’t take long at all!
After Kyrie Irving requested a trade from the Brooklyn Nets on Friday — with previous ominous tweets potentially pointing to this future — the organization officially traded him to the Dallas Mavericks in quick succession Sunday afternoon. (Poor LeBron James.) It seems trades for superstar guards, no matter how much of an all-around headache they present, aren’t hard to swing.
Irving will join one of the NBA’s premier talents in Luka Doncic, as they try to push for a title. Meanwhile, after piecing together their own “Big 3” just a few years ago, Kevin Durant is all that’s left for the Nets.
