NBA, NHL to give fans experience similar to Las Vegas Sphere

The Las Vegas Sphere has earned a lot of buzz lately as the massive dome like structure towers over Sin City.

But Beneath its eye-catching exterior exists an immersive viewing experience that's impressed many who've been inside, including NBA superstar LeBron James who was captivated by his experience of watching Irish band U2 perform a concert in the dome.

"SIMPLY INCREDIBLE VENUE!!" James captioned his post from last month.

James might soon be the star that fans will be watching in a dome experience, just not exactly the Las Vegas Sphere.

According to CNBC, Warner Bros. Discovery WBD and Cosm, an immersive technology company, are teaming up to create two venues that will create a similar dome-like experience for fans to watch sporting events aired on TNT. That includes the NBA and NHL.

Cosm reportedly plans to open two venues — one in Dallas that will be 65,000 square feet and another in Los Angeles that will be 70,000 square feet. Around 800 fans will be able to watch the games inside the domes.

The domes will feature a full, 360-degree viewing experience on 8K LED screens. The difference between Cosm's domes and the Las Vegas Sphere is the events that will be showcased.

The Sphere focuses on live events such as the U2 concert James witnessed, while the Cosm domes will be for showcasing broadcasts of other events that will give the feel of watching sporting events with a courtside view.
