NBA Legend Charles Barkley sends message to Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes

The Kansas City Chiefs faced critics during their 2023 regular season run to Super Bowl LVIII. They were often picked as the underdog throughout the postseason, including their overtime victory over the San Francisco 49ers.

The players have embraced the negative press, often using it as fuel during their winning streak. The critics usually aren’t referred to by name in any of the players’ press conferences or interviews unless their name is Charles Barkley. The basketball legend has made it no secret that he enjoys betting on games and has frequently better against the Chiefs throughout the postseason.

Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes made sure to remind the world of Barkley’s prediction failures and not let them go unnoticed, as he recently addressed him on social media.

“Watching @NBAonTNT and trying to see if my man Charles is going to pick against the Chiefs again in the next round!” posted Mahomes on his X account.

Mahomes didn’t have to wait long for a response as Barkley took some time during the show to speak directly into the camera.

“Number one, you Travis and Chris Jones, Chris Jones, I love you, Andy Reid, congratulations,” said Barkley. “Yeah, I bet against you at Buffalo, I bet against you at Baltimore. And I bet against you in the Superbowl. I was zero for three. I got to wait until next year; congratulations, brother.”

Barkley hasn’t had the best track record in making bets or guarantees, as shown on the legendary basketball show Inside The NBA Mahomes and the Chiefs should probably hope that he continues to bet against them in 2024.
