Prominent NBA newsbreaker Shams Charania made a major gaffe while reporting on the Damian Lillard blockbuster trade Wednesday afternoon.
Charania’s original tweet announcing the three-team trade had Lillard going to the Toronto Raptors, not the Milwaukee Bucks. The tweet didn’t stay up long, but so many NBA fans have notifications for Charania’s tweets on that so plenty of screenshots were taken.

The Raptors had been a rumored destination for Lillard in recent days, so the mistake did make some sense. Charania quickly reposted the tweet with the proper trade framework, which sends Jrue Holiday and DeAndre Ayton to the Trail Blazers and Jusuf Nurkić to the Suns.
Sources: Portland, Milwaukee and Phoenix have agreed to a three-team trade:

Bucks get: Damian Lillard
Suns: Jusuf Nurkic
Blazers: Deandre Ayton
Score one for ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski in the race between the two prominent reporters. But the real loser might have been Raptors fans, who surely got their hopes up for a moment before the error was corrected.
Woj COOKED Shams this round omg
