The NBA has issued a $35,000 fine to Denver guard Russell Westbrook for an obscene gesture he made during the fourth quarter of a recent game against the New York Knicks at Ball Arena. The incident occurred as Westbrook hit a 3-pointer from the corner and then seemingly made the gesture in front of the New York bench.
In the game, the Knicks secured a dominant 145-118 victory, with guard OG Anunoby achieving a career-high 40 points and Jalen Brunson contributing 23 points along with 17 assists, which tied a team record for New York. The Knicks got off to a strong start and maintained their momentum throughout the game.
Despite the loss, Westbrook put up an impressive performance, scoring 27 points after coming off the bench to lead the Nuggets in scoring.
