When the report started hitting social media late Saturday night, it didn’t seem real:
The Mavericks are trading Luka Doncic to the Lakers for Anthony Davis.
Like, how?
Well, the trade was real. And come Sunday, the teams were ready to make it official. First the Mavericks tweeted out their welcome for Davis and Max Christie, who was also part of the deal. And a few hours later, the Lakers made their part of the trade official publicly.
Even the Lakers’ official Twitter/X account acknowledged how strange this reality was. Yes, Luka Doncic really is a member of the Los Angeles Lakers.
