Patrick Beverley’s latest altercation will surely lead to some kind of discipline from the NBA.
On Tuesday night, he shoved Deandre Ayton, who was standing over Pat Bev’s teammate Austin Reaves. Beverley knew he’d be ejected, so he went to the locker room immediately.
It was the latest in the Beverley and Suns beef — remember that cheap shot on Chris Paul last year? It happened with Paul’s back turned to Beverley.
Devin Booker remembers it well. When asked after Tuesday’s game for his thoughts on Beverley shoving Ayton, he had this to say: “Pat needs to stop pushing people in the back, man. Push them in the chest. That’s all I’ve got to say.”

NBA fans responded by pointing to a Booker incident from the 2021 playoffs in which he pushed Dennis Schroder in mid-air, which resulted in a flagrant 2, a dangerous play:
