NBA announces in-season tournament schedule for Lakers

Rob Pelinka has been busy since the Los Angeles Lakers suffered a sweeping defeat at the hands of the Denver Nuggets. Anthony Davis, D’Angelo Russell, and Rui Hachimura have all signed contract extensions, and multiple new faces will be donning the purple and gold when the new season rolls around.

Lakers fans have a lot to be excited about right now. The new season will bring another opportunity to add a banner to the rafters and for LeBron James to continue building out the final chapters of his legacy. However, with the addition of the in-season tournament, the Lakers could potentially find themselves contending on two fronts.

Darvin Ham will want his team to be engaged throughout the entire season. As such, the coaching staff may see success in the maiden in-season tournament as the ideal way to get everybody on the team reading from the same page.

On August 15, the NBA released the Lakers in-season schedule. Los Angeles has been played into ‘West Group A,’ alongside the Utah Jazz, Memphis Grizzlies, and Phoenix Suns.
