The NBA announced a pair of broadcast changes for the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday. After beating the Boston Celtics, the Thunder — who are 23-9 — were gifted an additional national TV game.
The Thunder’s Jan. 24 road game against the San Antonio Spurs will now be shown on ESPN instead of ABC. The start has also been changed to 8:30 p.m. CT.
This will be the second time both teams will meet this regular season. The first matchup saw the Thunder dominate the Spurs as Chet Holmgren and Victor Wembanyama faced off for the first time in the NBA.
The NBA also announced that the Thunder’s home game against the Houston Rockets on Feb. 27 will now air on TNT. The start has also been changed to 9 p.m. CT.
This will mark the second time both these teams met. Earlier this season, the Thunder suffered a loss to the Rockets after looking lackadaisical all night long.
With OKC continuing to rack up wins, so will its national TV appearances. Considering the youth of their roster, expect the trio of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Chet Holmgren and Jalen Williams to soon become household names — if they haven’t already.
