The latest game in the series has just been released, and fans of the game have aired their feedback and comments on the internet.

Welcome to Player. One's review roundup where we put together what gamers have to say on Steam and Google Reviews about the latest video game releases.

For today's roundup, the focus is on NBA 2K25. Unfortunately, feedback hasn't been stellar for the game. In fact, it has "Mixed" reviews on Steam and 2.2 stars on Google Reviews as of press time.

The latest entry in the NBA 2K series, NBA 2K25 is a basketball video game developed by Visual Concepts and published by 2K. The game is available for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox X/S, Nintendo Switch, and Windows.

It is the 26th installment of the NBA 2K series and comes in four editions. The Standard Edition features Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics, while the WNBA Edition features A'ja Wilson of the Las Vegas Aces. Both Tatum and Wilson feature in the All-Star Edition of the game.

The Naismith Hall of Fame Edition, on the other hand, features NBA legend Vince Carter.

'Mixed' Reviews on Steam

NBA 2K25 has, as of press time, more than 3,000 user reviews on Steam. These reviews are described as "Mixed" by the platform.

"As of right now, I have mixed opinions about this game," Steam user Masbro said in a review. "From experience of playing religiously since 2K18, this definitely feels very smooth and balanced *so far* gameplay wise."

"I haven't come across a build or certain attribute (dunk, steal, etc.) that needs tuning," Masbro added. "Shooting is difficult this year in my opinion. If you feel hopeless in your shot, just go to Controller Settings and switch to 'Low Risk Low Reward' as it will help you hit more slightly early/lates at the expense of lowering your green window."

"The game looks terrible," ABCola said in a separate review. "Noticeably less vibrant than 2K24."

"It feels so sluggish to move around the court," ABCola shared. "I can't stand the new shot meter and this buff for midrange."

2.2 Stars on Google Reviews

On Google Reviews, NBA 2K25 is not faring very well as it has a rating of 2.2 stars as of press time.

"The game is visually spectacular, the gameplay is super good, no criticism," Google user Jose Madriz said in a review. "Although it has those micro transactions that happen a little but are normal without complaints, the rest makes up for it."

"What's really bad and can't be forgiven is that the game is not for casual people because no one wants to play with you," Madriz added.

"Another great copy and paste job," Andrix Pierre said in a separate Google Review.

"These developers keep teasing with these scripted advertisements of how this game will introduce new features that will make the game enjoyable as well as provide a realistic experience," he continued. "I would definitely say that for years we have been waiting for what they seem to promise and very disappointingly continuously fail to deliver."
