The runner-ups have been revealed. Now it’s time to see the NBA 2K19 rating and render for the NBA Rookie of the Year and Australian cover athlete Ben Simmons.

Here is a look at Simmons’ rating and render:

The 87 overall rating is partially surprising since Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell and the Boston Celtics’ Jayson Tatum had the same rating. The race was close, so I suppose this is the 2K ratings maker’s way of saying the difference between the three is really too close to separate with an overall mark.
The Philadelphia 76ers star helped lead his team to their first playoff berth since 2012. In the process, the 6’10″ hybrid spent much of the season at point guard and creating matchup problems for almost every opponent. Simmons averaged 15.8 points, 8.1 assists and 8 rebounds per game in his rookie year. LeBron James and Russell Westbrook are the only other players in the league to have averaged at least 15 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists per contest.
If Simmons can improve his outside shot, he’ll be even tougher to guard and the numbers will get even gaudier. In any case, he and his teammate Joel Embiid should be a handful to contain in NBA 2K19 and real life during the upcoming season.
