NBA 2K fans are anxiously awaiting news about NBA 2K19, but up to now, all we really know is that LeBron James is the 20th Anniversary cover athlete and that Giannis Antetokounmpo is on the cover of the Standard Edition.

I’d expect that to change this week, at least if last year’s calendar is any indication. In 2017, the third week in July was when the information rollout for NBA 2K18 kicked into high gear. In fact, we saw players begin to reveal their ratings through Instagram videos on Ronnie 2K’s account on July 17.
2K doesn’t have to maintain the same process they have in previous years, but a repeat of sorts, stand to reason considering the game is due out a little earlier this year. Because of the earlier release, some might even argue the distribution of content should have begun even before now. NBA 2K18 released officially on September 15, 2017. NBA 2K19 is set to hit all retailers and fans on September 11, but pre-order customers will have access on September 7.
It’s only four days difference, but that can be huge from a developer standpoint. In any case, I’d be surprised if we don’t see new NBA 2K19 information this week.
