Kawhi Leonard is a great player and I don’t have much of an issue with his rating in NBA 2K19, but it doesn’t appear as though much work has been done to improve his render from NBA 2K18.

We can see some light work done with his hair, which was desperately needed, but aside from that, it’s just some improvements to the lighting–at least from this angle.

Leonard hasn’t had one of the more spot-on renders over the past few years in 2K, and I’m not sure this one is going to do a lot to change things. Unlike the other renders that have been shown, there doesn’t appear to be a lot done to skin tone or muscularity. Much like the Donovan Mitchell model, Leonard’s could stand to have some bulk added to the shoulders.
Even with this critique, it’s not as if Leonard’s likeness is unrecognizable, but it would be surprising to learn that he has actually been scanned with the developer’s full camera rig. It seems if he had, we’d get something closer to a photo-realistic version of the newest Toronto Raptor.
