Early on Tuesday, Boston Celtics’ Jayson Tatum’s NBA 2K19 render and rating were revealed.

Tatum’s rating is impressive at 87, but his render, like the other two we’ve seen Giannis Antetokounmpo and LeBron James is a bit of an upgrade from last year’s version. Here is a side-by-side comparison photo of the two renders.

As was the case with James and Antetokoumpo, Tatum’s render appears to have a more accurate skin complexion and muscle tone. This was a difficult angle and pose to simulate, and also a tough render to improve upon. The development team did an outstanding job with Tatum for NBA 2K18. Thus, this was more of a touchup.
Wednesday will likely bring another released player model and rating. Any guesses as to who that might be? Damian Lillard, DeMar DeRozan, Steph Curry, Lonzo Ball, Ben Simmons, Donovan Mitchell are some of the top candidates because of their past and recent dealings with 2K.
The 2K community is likely getting full on these render reveals, but it’s also only heightening the anticipation for gameplay footage and first-hand impressions. Perhaps we’ll have that sometime over the next few weeks. Last year, that kind of preview wasn’t available until August.
With this year’s game releasing a little earlier, there’s a chance we could see gameplay a little earlier.
