Gianluca Scamacca (knee)
Striker Gianluca Scamacca has missed all five of West Ham’s matches since returning from the international break with Italy, where he featured twice off the bench against England and Malta.
Following the issue, having had a number of knee problems in recent months, Scamacca underwent knee surgery on Saturday morning.
Asked about the surgery, Moyes admitted he was yet to know exactly what kind of procedure the 24-year-old had undergone.
“I’ve not seen the pictures,” said Moyes after Sunday’s 2-2 draw with Arsenal. “All I know is he had knee surgery, we’re not sure. We’re awaiting it, it only got done yesterday.
“We’re awaiting clear information on exactly what’s been done, we don’t know if it was a washout, we don’t know if anything has been removed, floating bone. I’ve just not got the answer to that.”
Nayef Aguerd (ankle)
Centre-back Nayef Aguerd was one of two defenders absent for the London derby against Arsenal, alongside experienced Italian Angelo Ogbonna. Aguerd missed the draw after sustaining an ankle issue during the first leg draw in Belgium.
Speaking on the issue, Moyes said Aguerd attempted to train on it but did not feel right, leading to him missing the game.
“It was last-minute. Aguerd in training yesterday felt it,” Moyes told football.london . “The boys who were out there will know he took a kick and his boot came off in the incident in Belgium and it was a boy who had ran down the back of his ankle.”
Angelo Ogbonna (back)
Italian centre-back Ogbonna was also absent for the game after suffering a back issue when falling from a jump up for a header.
Ogbonna did play the duration in Belgium but upon his return, suffered stiffness in his back, leading to his absence against Arsenal.
Even if he was fit, however, Ogbonna would not be eligible to play, due to being suspended after getting his third European caution of the season.
“Angelo had the fall, he felt okay but he’s stiffened up with his back," Moyes told football.london. "That’s why the two boys missed out, so it was a really late call on the change.”
