Navy Parachutist Crash-Lands On Spectators During Fleet Week Performance

An incident occurred during a Fleet Week performance in San Francisco where a Navy parachutist crash-landed on a mother and her teenager at Marina Green. The accident took place when one of the Navy Leap Frogs parachute team members seemed to miss the landing zone.

Video footage of the incident captured the moment when a Navy parachutist, carrying a banner, descended into a crowd of spectators, resulting in the mother and her child sustaining minor injuries. The mother was subsequently taken to a hospital for further evaluation.

In response to the incident, the Navy expressed concern for the affected individuals and emphasized that safety is their top priority. They stated that an investigation would be conducted to determine the cause of the mishap.

Fortunately, the parachutist involved in the crash-landing reportedly emerged unscathed from the incident. The Navy Leap Frogs, known for their gravity-defying demonstrations showcasing the Navy's exceptional skills, comprise members with backgrounds in real-world special operations.

According to the Navy's website, the Leap Frogs team consists of active-duty Navy SEALs, Special Warfare Combat Crewmen, Divers, Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technicians, and Aircrew Survival Equipmentmen. These highly trained individuals demonstrate the elite capabilities offered by Navy Special Warfare through their performances across the country.
