A NatWest bank will be closing its doors for the final time in May.
The bank based on Stanley Road in Bootle will serve its last customer on May 10, 2023. A spokesperson for the bank has said the reason for the closure is due to people "shifting to mobile and online banking".
NatWest also said that they will take steps to ensure that "no one is left behind" and recognises that "digital solutions aren’t right for everyone".

The news has been shared on a local Bootle Facebook page and people have reacted to the closure. One person said: "So what do all the elderly people do when all these banks close down, not everyone can use a smartphone."
Another person commented: "It's happening everywhere all banks will be closing soon enough, so wrong I don't like banks I liked it better when my money went into a post office. They should have kept it like that, especially for our older generation."
A NatWest spokesperson said: “As with many industries, most of our customers are shifting to mobile and online banking because it’s faster and easier for people to manage their financial lives. We understand and recognise that digital solutions aren’t right for everyone or every situation and that when we close branches we have to make sure that no one is left behind.
"We take our responsibility seriously to support the people who face challenges in moving online, so we are investing to provide them with support and alternatives that work for them.”
