Nations League results: Brennan Johnson earns Wales late draw; Aston Villa’s Matty Cash on target for Poland

Brennan Johnson secured a late draw for Wales against Belgium by scoring his first international goal in the dying embers of the game.

Ethan Ampadu’s early effort was ruled out following VAR intervention, with the visitors guilty of missing a number of chances before Youri Tielemans opened the scoring with a calm effort into the bottom right corner five minutes after the break.

Nottingham Forest star Johnson, however, would grab a point for Wales when he rolled in a late leveller following a brilliant assist from Aaron Ramsey and that effort survived a VAR check.

The result gives Rob Page’s side their first point ahead of Tuesday’s trip to the Netherlands, the Group A4 leaders.

Louis van Gaal’s side rescued a point themselves in a dramtic end to their clash with Poland.

Aston Villa star Matty Cash scored his first goal for the away side before Piotr Zielinski doubled their lead, with Robert Lewandowski watching on injured from the bench.

With the group leaders looking in real of losing their first ever game to Poland, former Everton man Davy Klaassen offered an instant response.

Denzel Dumfries would add a second in a frantic five minutes of second-half action, before Memphis Depay missed a late penalty after Cash was judged to have handballed in the bix in the final stages of the game.

Germany, meanwhile, came from behind to win a point away in Hungary, a result that leaves them a point ahead of England in Group A3.

Zsolt Nagy had put Hungary ahead after only six minutes before Jonas Hofmann restored parity three minutes later, a goal that took the German to four draws in a row.
