If you fancy working at some of Merseyside's most historic buildings and estates, then the National Trust might have your dream role. The trust currently has a handful of vacancies for people in and around Liverpool.
From working hands-on at an ice cream kiosk, to running facilities management across various sites, there may be a role up your street.

There are five job vacancies up for grabs in and around Merseyside, with some offering flexible contracts.
Food and beverage team member
Location: Formby
Description: You'll welcome and look after every customer who visits the food and beverage outlet and ensure all signage is displayed correctly and the food served, looks good. From time to time you may be required to assist the kitchen team with food prep, but your core focus will be from a front-of-house perspective at an ice cream kiosk.
Hours: The opening hours at the kiosk are from 11am to 7.45pm; working hours can range between these. The role is a fixed term contract that will end in October 2023, with the possibility of extension or permanent position.
Pay: £10.50 per hour
Facilities assistants - three jobs available
Location: Speke Hall
Description: As a facilities assistant, you'll assist with the day-to-day cleanliness and presentation of the National Trust’s buildings and outdoor spaces. You may also be asked to help with some manual work such as unloading deliveries.
Duties such as cleaning, sweeping and litter picking will form a core part of the role, both inside and outdoors. You will be part of a team based at Speke Hall, with occasional days spent assisting at portfolio sites: The Beatles’ Childhood Homes and The Hardmans’ House in Liverpool city centre.
Hours:
- Contract 1: 22.5 hours per week. Ideally, the working days will be Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and one weekend per month, but there is flexibility.
- Contract 2: 30 hours per month - working Saturday and Sunday, two weekends in four.
- Contract 3: flexible, zero hours
All roles are fixed-term until February 28 2024
Pay:
- Contract 1 - Salary £12,285 (full-time equivalent £20,475)
- Contract 2 - Salary £3,780 (full-time equivalent £20,475)
- Contract 3 - hourly rate £10.50
Ranger
Location: Chirk Castle, Wrexham
Description: You'll help with the protection and care of habitats, wildlife, property and machinery and assist with guided visitor walks. You'll also share and promote the work that National Trust do.
This will see you responding to queries and explaining the value of the work being undertaken.
Hours: 37.5 hours a week. You'll also work some weekends, bank holiday, evenings and be on call.
Pay: £22,152 per year. Internal applicants only.
