National Ice Cream Day 2023: New launches, deals and discounts

There aren’t many things more delightful than some sweet, velvety ice cream, especially during the sweltering summer months.

And, thanks to National Ice Cream Day, which falls on Sunday July 16 this year, ice cream aficionados will have the best excuse to fill their tummies with scrumptious scoops.

The special day is celebrated on the third Sunday of July every year.

To celebrate the happy occasion, ice cream brands have revealed special launches, deals and discounts.

Here is a look at some of the best ones out there including Crosta & Mollica and Häagen-Dazs.

Crosta & Mollica

Just in time for National Ice Cream Day Crosta & Mollica has released Sorbetto Shells.

The vegan-friendly frozen delights come in two flavours; lemon sorbetto and pomegranate sorbetto. Plus, they have been designed to look like halves of the fruit they are flavoured with, making them chic additions to dessert tables.

Each half has been generously hand-filled with a smooth sorbet made from the ripened fruit.

If these sound like your cup of tea, you can get your hands on them in selected Waitrose stores.

Häagen-Dazs

Häagen-Dazs lovers will be elated to hear that the ice cream company will be offering a free scoop of ice cream with every purchase on National Ice Cream Day (July 16).

All you need to do is head to the Häagen-Dazs Ice Cream Stsuprore on the third floor of John Lewis on Oxford Street and buy a little treat.

The store is offering some limited edition flavours. These include cookie dough chip ice cream, and raspberry and lemon sorbets. Plus, you can indulge in Häagen-Dazs’s newly launched macaron collection in collaboration with pastry chef Pierre Herme, which includes double chocolate ganache, and strawberry and raspberry options.

Tesco

Tesco is launching new ice cream flavours in time for the special day following its recent study, which showed that two in three people treat themselves to an ice cream at least once a week during the summer, with vanilla and chocolate being the favourites.

The new Tesco Finest ice creams come in two flavours: roasted pistachio and coconut and passionfruit, each available for £3 a tub.
