The National Concert Hall in Dublin has announced the passing of their 'wonderful' colleague Jim Tate. who
Jim worked at the venue for 33 years as part of the backstage team, and was hailed as "ever-smiling, helpful, accommodating and hard-working".
"We are devastated today at the passing of our wonderful colleague and friend Jim Tate," NCH bosses wrote on social media.
"Jim worked at the NCH for 33 years and we're sure that if you were backstage at the NCH at any point in those years, you would have encountered the ever-smiling, helpful, accommodating and hard-working Jim who had the best jokes for every occasion.

"He was the reassuring face to every artist as they were about to go on stage.
"Whilst Jim loved his work at the NCH, he was never happier than when he had his bass in his hands and played with numerous well known artists and bands over his long musical career."
They added: "Jim, you will be sorely missed by everyone.
"We send our condolences to Debbie & Darragh and Jim's wider family & huge circle of friends on this sad day."
A former colleague of Jim's commented: "I have great memories of Jim while working in the NCH for many years. Very very sad news. He will be sorely missed by all, but especially the backstage gang."
Another person wrote: "I’m so very sorry to hear this news. Jim was a diamond of a man. Always so helpful and with that gorgeous smile of his. Sending love to his family and friends at this sad time."
