Nathaniel Clyne has hinted he would be keen to stay at Crystal Palace beyond the end of the season.
The 30-year-old signed a one-year contract extension back in August having returned to his boyhood club in 2020 after spells with both Southampton and Liverpool.
A former England international, Clyne has made five of his six Premier League starts this season since February, following Joel Ward’s groin injury.
Palace have taken on a new direction following the appointment of Patrick Vieira with a greater emphasis placed on youth and developing talent.
Sitting comfortably in mid-table and into the FA Cup semi-finals, it has been a hugely successful season at Selhurst Park.
While offering a 30-year-old Clyne a new deal might not exactly seem in keeping with that philosophy, the continued injury problems Nathan Ferguson has suffered do leave Palace short in the right-back department.
Speaking to Sky Sports, Clyne hinted he was keen to stay.
“I’m enjoying my time here at Crystal Palace,” he said.
“My contract is up [at the end of the season} but I’m just concentrating on playing.
“When the end of the season comes, we’ll see what happens then.
When pushed on whether or not he’d accept a contract offer, Clyne said: “Obviously it’s the club that I do love so yeah, I’m enjoying it.”
