Nathan Patterson has been singled out for praise by Everton boss Sean Dyche.
The former Rangers defender was outstanding in the Toffees' shock 5-1 victory over Brighton yesterday.
The Goodison Park side took a big step towards Premier League safety by recording a huge win on the south coast, against one of the standout teams in the division this term.
In for the crocked Seamus Coleman, the 21-year-old was superb at right back.
He was tasked with keeping Brighton's star man Kaoru Mitoma quiet - and he did exactly that.
The Scotland international has hardly had a look in at Everton since the arrival of Dyche after Frank Lampard's sacking earlier this year.
But having replaced Coleman in the team against Leicester last week, it appears Patterson is ready to grab his chance and get a run in the starting XI.
He told BT Sport post-match: "There was a lot of good performances tonight, but a really good collective performance.
"I thought Pato was terrific, coming in for Seamus who has been amazing since he got to the club.
"Mitoma has been arguably one of the best wide players in the Premier League this year and I thought Pato was tremendous.
"Smothered him when he could and stayed tuned in when he had to when the ball was on the other side."
