Nathan Patterson has given Steve Clarke a massive boost ahead of the start of the qualifying campaign for Euro 2024.
The former Rangers star played for an hour on Thursday night as Everton under-21s lost 3-0 to PSV Eindhoven to bow out of the the Premier League international Cup at the quarter final stage. It follows 64 minutes against Tottenham two weeks ago.
Now Sean Dyche is set to turn to the marauding full back as he attempts to lead Everton out of the Premier League relegation zone. They've got Nottingham Forest on Saturday and Patterson could find a place on the bench which will be music to Clarke's ears.

The Scots open up their campaign with a Hampden double header at the end of the month. They take on Cyprus on Saturday, Marach 24 and then meet Spain at the national stadium four days later.
Patterson has been sidelined since the 4-1 thrashing at the hands of Brighton & Hove Albion at the start of January. That followed an ankle injury back in September when the ex-Ibrox defender was hurt early in Scotland's World Cup play-off semi-final that ended in misery against Ukraine. That came after he had scored in the 4-1 Nations League win over Armenia.
