Nathan Fielder has just announced that The Rehearsal will be getting a second season via X (formerly Twitter), with this season focusing on fixing aviation disasters through the medium of meticulously-planned ‘rehearsals’ of events planned by Fielder. So bloody keen!
Plus, filmmaker Darren Aronofsky (known for Black Swan, Requiem For A Dream, and The Whale) seems pretty chuffed about the new season, writing: “Cannot wait. Thank you.” in reply to Fielder’s original X thread.
“I’ve been studying commercial-aviation disasters as a hobby,” Fielder says in the trailer.
“And I started to notice a disturbing pattern in the causes of these crashes.”
When talking to a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) officer, Fielder stated that he has “some experience with creating elaborate role-playing scenarios” and that he has HBO’s money to “put towards this”.
“Let’s work together to save some lives,” Fielder said.
ICYMI, Fielder released the first season of docu-comedy The Rehearsal back in 2022, which followed him helping an assortment of ordinary people rehearse difficult situations and conversations with hired actors. The events ranged from confessing to a white lie to raising a child.
The first season highlighted Fielder’s iconic blend of cringe comedy with deadpan delivery, while also exploring meatier topics that’ll leave you stuck forever pondering some heavy existential questions. It’s a lot.

Fielder is also known for Nathan For You (a classic) and The Curse, the latter of which he also co-starred with Emma Stone.
With season two now on the way, we’ve dropped down some neat info about everything we know about the upcoming shenanigans we can expect to see Fielder get up to.
When is The Rehearsal season two coming out?
Here’s some good news: season two of The Rehearsal is scheduled to premiere on April 20th in the States — on 4/20, of all days.
It will be available for streaming in Australia the day after on April 21, on streaming service Max.
What will The Rehearsal season two be about?
As previously stated, this season appears to focus on Fielder attempting to fix the major issues happening in the commercial airline space, following the recent aviation crashes occurring throughout America.
In the trailer, Fielder is also seen donning prosthetics to age himself up for what we can only assume is a wedding, as well as rocking some nightmare-inducing stilts…OK!!

Who can say at this point what these will be used for, so all we can do now is wait and see.
While there’s not much else to spill at this point, we can safely say that whatever takes place, Fielder will be making us cringe in the best way possible.
