Brentford are closing in on the signing of Wolves defender Nathan Collins for a club-record £23million.
Collins is due to undergo a medical on Monday and is set to join the Bees on a long-term contract after one season at Wolves, who he joined from Burnley for £20.5m last summer.
The 22-year-old has 14 caps for the Republic of Ireland and will become Brentford’s third summer signing after goalkeeper Mark Flekken and Kevin Schade both joined from Freiburg.
Flekken joined Brentford in an £11m deal, while Schade made his loan move permanent for £21m.
Brentford head coach Thomas Frank has targeted a new centre-back this summer as the Bees bid to build on their ninth-place finish in the Premier League last season.
Collins made 33 appearances for Wolves in 2022/23 but lost his place in the team towards the end of the season under Julen Lopetegui, who has given the defender the green light to leave Molineux this summer.
