Nate Diaz has doubled down on his request to be released from the UFC whilst teasing a boxing fight with Jake Paul.
Diaz is on the last fight of his deal but the promotion has not booked him for a bout for over a year. The fan favourite has asked to be released from his contract and protested by 'urinating' outside their headquarters last month.
He was linked to a fight with Dustin Poirier for several months at the beginning of this year, but the UFC has since moved on from the contest. Leaked match-ups showed that Diaz was scheduled to face Khamzat Chimaev in July, a fight Dana White said the promotion are still working on.
Diaz is seemingly getting tired of sitting on the sidelines and insists he still wants out of the UFC. Posting a video of Paul's knockout against ex-UFC champion Tyron Woodley last August, he on Twitter : "UFC release [me] now please or give me fight with anyone in July or august I have bigger s*** to do."
There are several big fights to make for Diaz in the UFC, such as a trilogy with Conor McGregor or welterweight clash with Michael Chandler. Despite a third contest between Diaz and McGregor being on the table for several years, the former has said he would rather be released than fight his old rival again because he "sucks".
Diaz has also blamed Chimaev recently getting married as the reason for the fight delay. "I've been trying to fight for a year and months I also tried to fight Khamzat for the last month and a half but he was hurt," Diaz wrote.
"He had visa issues, overweight and now his b**** a** is off getting married instead of fighting wtf? I’m trying to get a fight with a real fighter asap/July." Diaz has been on the last fight of his UFC contract since losing a decision to Leon Edwards last June.

Paul has previously shown support for Diaz's campaign to be released from the UFC, whilst promising there would be "a lot of s*** talking" if the pair do meet in the ring. Diaz has also been told by former UFC middleweight champion Michael Bisping that he should only leave the UFC for a fight with Paul.
"Why does Diaz wants out of his contract so badly? Because he gets paid well," Bisping said on the Believe You Me podcast. "I understand there are other promotions. There's a Jake Paul fight perhaps. That's one big fight with Jake Paul. That's it."
