Natalie Portman is reportedly battling to save her marriage after it was reported that her husband had cheated on her with a younger woman.
The award-winning actress, who has been married to French dancer Benjamin Millepied since 2012, is said to be focused on 'protecting her kids' amid the cheating rumours.
The pair have two children together, 11-year-old son Aleph, and six-year-old daughter Amalia, who they have raised in both Paris and Los Angeles.
But their marriage has been rocked by speculation that Benjamin cheated on Natalie with climate activist Camille Étienne, who is 25 years old.
The Mirror reports that according to a Page Six source: “They have not split and are trying to work things out. Ben is doing everything he can to get Natalie to forgive him. He loves her and their family.
“She is incredibly private.
“Her biggest focus right now is protecting the kids.”
Reports suggest Natalie and Benjamin have been facing problems in their marriage since November last year.
The recent Cannes Film Festival release of her latest film sparked further speculation that things weren't great between the couple as many pointed out that Benjamin was nowhere to be seen on the red carpets alongside his wife.
Photographs later emerged showing Benjamin and Natalie kissing in public while in Paris following the Cannes festival.
And the pair were also spotted together at one of the French dates of Beyonce ’s current Renaissance World Tour.
But French magazine Voici published an article on Friday suggesting Benjamin and Camille have been spending time together.
They report: “In early March, the star of the Star Wars saga discovered that her husband was having an affair with a young woman.”
They also report that Benjamin and Camille were spotted entering the same building before emerging two hours later, and 10 minutes apart.
Hours after Voici released their report, People magazine in the US claimed Benjamin was grovelling to Natalie for forgiveness.
A source told the outlet: “He knows he made an enormous mistake and he is doing all he can to get Natalie to forgive him and keep their family together.”
Natalie and Benjamin met on the set of the film Black Swan in early 2009 - the film which saw Natalie receive her Academy Award.
The romance got off to a controversial start as it was reported Benjamin ditched the girlfriend he was living with at the time for the American actress.
He had been dating American ballet dancer Isabella Boylston, 36, who was said to be “heartbroken” when Benjamin ditched her.
