Natalie Cassidy reveals secrets to her continued weight-loss success

Natalie Cassidy says a new diet, running and a ban on fast food are the secrets behind her incredibly slim figure - after admitting she has struggled to diet safely in the past.

The 35-year-old actress is still best known for play trumpet loving Sonia Fowler in EastEnders - a role she has held down since she was just a child in 1993.

She is perhaps second best known for her incredible body transformations - having first wowed fans and casual soap watchers alike when she whipped herself into incredible shape and shared her tips with her fitness DVD, 2007’s Natalie Cassidy's Then and Now Workout.

The star continues to wow on red carpets - but she says she is happier and healthier now more than ever before after yo-yo dieting and then reclaiming her figure by losing three stone over the past three years.

And it would seem, the old adage of exercise and healthy eating are the secrets to Natalie’s continued success.

“Nat is following a well-balanced, low-GI diet and has sworn off take outs,” a source close to the star has revealed to Now magazine.

“She loves to run and says fitness has helped, not just with her body but also her mental health,” they added.

Indeed, Natalie has previously opened up about her slim figure that she showcased in 2007 to say that, upon reflection, she was not happy.

“I was on the cusp of having an eating disorder. I’d go out for dinner and then I’d go home and take laxatives as I didn’t want to have the food inside me,” she said.

“I looked too thin. I can say I wasn’t happy then,” she added.
