A Nashville man was arrested after authorities say he flushed his brother's cremated remains down a toilet during an alleged break-in at their mother's home.

Adell Totten, the man accused, reportedly broke into his mother's home Saturday by smashing a window before dismantling indoor security cameras. Authorities charged Totten with aggravated burglary and abuse of a corpse.

He put the ashes in the toilet and stole a $10 cap from the property, police said as reported by WREG Memphis. The victim, Totten's mother, called police and confirmed her son no longer lives at the residence.

His bond details are unknown.
