NASHIK: The Nashik zilla parishad has announced its plan to ensure over 7.6 lakh households across the rural areas of the district hoist the national flag as part of Har Ghar Tiranga programme announced by the central government for celebration of the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
From Monday, the rural development department is conducting gram sabhas in which people are being informed about the manner in which the tricolour has to be hoisted at their houses from August 13 to 15.
Chief executive officer Leena Bansod has directed that gram sabhas be held from July 25 to July 29 once in every village, during which, the programme of hoisting of national tricolour will be announced, besides awareness about the vaccination against covid, pledge about clearing dues of the gram panchayat will be carried out, said deputy chief executive officer Ravindra Pradeshi.
The flags of the size 30 cm by 20 cm will be hoisted as per the government orders, on every household and the same will be bought collectively by every gram panchayat with contribution from every household.
The officer said that flags are being bought from vendors who have been approved to manufacture flags from satin or polyester cloth but conforming to the National Flag Code of India 2022.
In Shirdi town of Ahmednagar district, a ‘Tricolour Rally, was organized on the premises of Shri Saibaba College of Shirdi, Shri Saibaba Sansthan Trust, to promote the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign. Ahmednagar’s Central Bureau of Communications and Shri Saibaba Sansthan Trust jointly organised the rally. Teachers, staff and students of the junior and senior colleges participated in this rally. All students had a cloth tricolour in their hands.
