In his 14th NASCAR National Series season and 561 career starts, Justin Allgaier finally achieved a circuit championship, claiming the 2024 Xfinity Series at Phoenix Raceway.
The much-respected driver has remained a consistent Xfinity contender over the past decade and a half. He has not placed outside of the top seven in any season since he started driving full-time in 2009. Included in his finishes P2s (‘20 and ‘23) and four P3s (‘11, ‘16, ‘17 and ‘22).
Allgaier compiled 25 wins, 153 top-five finishes and 282 top-10s in 471 Xfinity starts.
Success at the Cup level continues to evade Allgaier, however. In 82 starts, he posted just one top 10 and led just 17 of 21,378 laps. His average finishes are 27.4. Will he break through if another Cup opportunity develops this season?
As the defending Xfinity champion, Allgaier (+350) received the top odds from BetOnline Sportsbook to repeat.
