After Josh Williams was ordered out of Saturday's race by NASCAR following a three-car collision, the driver retaliated in rather petty fashion.
Williams was involved in a three-car collision on lap 28 of the Raptor 250 NASCAR Xfinity series race. Despite his crew taping up the damage to his vehicle, the race was halted again on lap 32 due to debris coming off of Williams's car.
As a result, officials ordered him to abandon the race, which clearly did not sit well with the 29-year-old.
In a bonkers meltdown, Williams opted to park his car at the start/finish line, exit the vehicle and slowly walk toward the garage.
The race's commentators were absolutely bewildered as Williams strolled along the grass of the track, waving to fans as he made his dramatic exit.
"We all work really hard and to only run ‘x’ amount of laps and then to have something like a piece of Bear Bond and put us out of the race, it’s really frustrating," Williams said after meeting with NASCAR officials, via NBC Sports. "Small team. We work really hard. We’ve got to make our sponsors happy, right? It doesn’t do any good sitting in the garage. It is what it is. We’ll learn from it and move on."
Officially, Williams received a DNF and placed 32nd of 38 cars at the Atlanta Motor Speedway. It's unclear what discipline, if any, the DGM Racing driver will face as a result of his outburst on Saturday.
