Two experienced NASCAR executives have been appointed to key roles at Andretti Global following Michael Andretti's decision to step aside. Doug Duchardt, a seasoned professional with a background in race teams and General Motors, has been named chief performance officer of motorsports at TWG Group, which now oversees all former Andretti properties. Jill Gregory, a former NASCAR vice president and marketing officer who also managed Sonoma Raceway, has been appointed chief operating officer of a TWG subsidiary and president of Andretti Global.
The announcement was made during a team meeting at the Andretti race shop in Indiana. TWG Group, founded by Mark Walter and Dan Towriss, is the investment company behind the restructuring. Towriss, now the majority owner of Andretti race teams and CEO of TWG Global's motorsports arm, will unveil the new name for the motorsports branch next week.
Duchardt brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having held positions at Spire Motorsports, Chip Ganassi Racing, and Hendrick Motorsports. He started his career at General Motors and will oversee all of TWG's motorsports properties, including partnerships with Spire and Wayne Taylor Racing.
Gregory, known for her leadership roles at NASCAR and Sonoma Raceway, will focus on Andretti Global's racing subsidiary, covering IndyCar, IndyNxt, and the Formula E team. She will succeed J-F Thormann as president of Andretti Global, with Thormann transitioning to head of driver development.
Gregory's extensive background in motorsports marketing, including roles at Bank of America and Sprint Nextel, makes her a valuable addition to the team. Her dual role within TWG will involve overseeing operations related to Andretti Global's racing initiatives.
The restructuring at Andretti Global signifies a new chapter for the organization, with Duchardt and Gregory poised to lead the way in driving success across the motorsports landscape.
