Nando's is introducing a new hot sauce which it says is its 'hottest spice ever'. The VUSA XX HOT is part of a limited time menu available at all restaurants including Liverpool ONE.
It is inspired by Nando's South African heritage. In Zulu, vusa means 'excitement and fire'.
Customers are even required to sign an amusing waiver before adding the sauce to their meal. It reads: "I assume all responsibility for the risk of ordering Nando’s XX HOT spice, VUSA.

"I certify I’m fully aware it’s fiery, fierce and has earned its rightful place at the top of the PERi-ometer. I’ll enjoy the legendary taste, hot sweats and bragging rights - because every mouthful’s a madness.
"After consideration, I waive my rights to complain about any spicy side effects, including but not limited to, streaming eyes and panting in front of my mates (or date).
"As a safety precaution, I confirm I know where to find the Bottomless Froyo machine. I’m also aware it’s limited edition and agree to keep my cool on socials when it’s no longer available. Promise."
Nando's are also adding the Spiced Chickpea Recipe to its restaurants in wrap and pitta form. It is teamed houmous, pink pickled onions, smoky red pepper chutney and crunchy lettuce.
VUSA XX HOT and the spiced chickpea wrap and pitta are available across the UK and Ireland from January 4.
