A-Level results: Nando’s is giving away free Peri Peri chicken today

Nando’s is giving away free chicken - but only for students celebrating their results.

The Portuguese restaurant chain, famous for its Peri Peri style chicken, is giving out a free quarter chicken or starter.

A-Level results day falls on Thursday, August 18, and GCSE results is on August 25.

BTEC, Scotland Highers, and National 5 students are eligible as well.

To get the discount, you will need to spend over £7 on food and visit a Nando's restaurant to eat-in.

The deal is not available on delivery or click and collect orders.

The discount will offer students a freebie of £4.75, which is the price of a quarter chicken (Nando’s)

You have to be student between the ages of 14 and 19 to claim the freebie.

Keep in mind you may be asked to show ID and a copy of your results.

The freebie is worth £4.75 - the price of a quarter chicken - and is available in the 450 stores.

You could also opt for a starter of halloumi sticks and dip, humous with Peri drizzle or sweet potato wedges without having to spend a penny.

The deal will only be available between 11am and 11pm on the days that results are handed out at schools and colleges nationwide.

Orders must be made at the till and the discount will be added by a team member.

For those non-students, there are other ways to get more bang for your buck at the restaurant.

Customers can sign up for the Nando’s rewards card, which allows you to earn points, or chillies, which turn into "free peri-peri".

Or, if you’re a sauce lover, the tubs of "Perinaise" will set you back 65p at the restaurant - and as it's likely that you'll order at least two, the extra cost all adds up.

But one Nando’s fan has shared how to make your own version of the sauce in the restaurant.

By adding medium sauce to a few sachets of mayo, which you'll usually find by the cutlery, you'll end up with something that tastes pretty similar.

Another way of saving some money if you're anticipating a family meal at Nando's, is to head first to Costco.

If you are a Costco member, you can buy £40 worth of gift cards for £34.99 to use at Nando's - which means you're saving yourself just over £5.
