A nan told of the "surreal" moment she helped to deliver her grandson in the bathroom.
Susan Webber was at home in Birkenhead when she received a phone call from her son Michael earlier this morning (Thursday) asking for her to come over. The phone call came after Michael's wife Jade, 31, who was pregnant with their fourth child, began experiencing pain.
Less than half an hour later, Jade went into labour and gave birth in the toilet at home at around 10am. Susan, 65, told the ECHO: "[My son] phoned me and said 'mum Jade's getting pains.' I'm sure she must have had them through the night.

"I said 'pick me up, I was still in my pyjamas.' He came over to pick me up, I came in and within half an hour it had all happened."
Jade had gone to the bathroom upstairs when she shouted Michael for help, who in turn rang Susan. Susan said they both "flew upstairs into the bathroom" and the "next thing I heard a 'plop' and baby came right out into the toilet."
Susan said Jade was in shock at what had just happened, as she stepped in to help while dad Michael phoned for an ambulance. She said: "I think it must have been the mother's instinct. I said 'grab him and give him to me.'
"She started panicking then. He was a funny colour. I started pinching his cheek and nose and I just heard a little cry.
"The next thing his [umbilical cord] just flew off. I couldn't believe it, I think I was in shock myself."
Susan described the birth of baby Matthew Dylan Webber, who is her ninth grandchild, as "surreal". Jade and Matthew, who weighs 9lbs, were taken to Arrowe Park Hospital to be checked over.
Susan said Jade is still in shock after the birth but both her and baby Matthew are doing well. She added: "She did absolutely fantastic."
Susan's granddaughter, Lacey Webber, 21, told the ECHO her nan helped to deliver baby Matthew just days after she helped a man who had a medical episode on the bus she was travelling on earlier this week.
She said: "She was on the bus and she helped this gentleman that had a stroke, and then yesterday she went for a walk in West Kirby and she fell and had to be brought home by the police."
Susan added: "My leg was throbbing but that this morning, I forgot about the pain. I haven't had a drink in 25 years but I might just have a little tipple tomorrow."
