A 90-year-old woman was on the verge of tears as she walked through the Aintree Racecourse gates for her first ever Grand National experience.
Sadie Edwards, a great-great-grandmother, held back the tears as she walked onto the racecourse for the first time in her life.
Speaking to the ECHO, Sadie's daughter, Kathy, said: "We come from around Ormskirk and we're here with my mum who's 90. That's the sole reason we came because she said 'I've got to go to Aintree before you know what'. Here she is and that's why we're all here."

She continued: "Even though we live locally it's our first time."
When asked about her outfit, Sadie, a social activist, told the ECHO: "Last minute, second hand, I put this outfit together and I just want to enjoy myself."
Speaking to ECHO reporter Patrick Edrich, she said: "Oh the Liverpool ECHO, I've been in that a few times."
The great-great-grandmother previously featured in the ECHO when she was flown out to New York for Tropfest, the world's biggest short film festival, after she was shortlisted for best actress.
The documentary, Teaching An Old Dog New Tricks, was up for best film, with the film being made by her Liverpool-born grandson Ian Gamester.
ECHO readers were quick to compliment the stylish pensioner. Michelle Bridson said: "She looks incredible! Go ed Sadie."
Isabella Higham remembered Sadie from her days as a dinner lady. She wrote: "Aw Sadie looking fabulous as always, the most glam dinner lady at Sacred Heart school, Kirkby."
Lilyy Wattss said: "Glad you posted her hope she has the best day she is so lovely. Can't believe she's 90."
