A pair of naked cyclists who were knocked off their bike in a Scots town have completed their cheeky charity ride around the UK.
Colin Unsworth, 52 and Sadie Tann, 32, set off from John O'Groats on June 29 and cycled completely nude for 50 miles a day to Lands End on their trusty tandem. They suffered a set back when, earlier this month, dramatic footage emerged of the moment a motorist knocked the duo down near Perth.
We told how police were hunting the motorist with the help of the footage captured before officers charged a 32-year-old man with a road traffic offence. But, as reported by the Mirror, they didn't let that little incident stop them - and after they rolled into Lands End yesterday the pair said that tourists seemed "overjoyed" and "everybody had their cameras out".
Colin, from Adlington in Lancashire, said: "It was great, everybody had their cameras out and straight away people cottoned on to what we had just done.
"The reaction was great, people were kind of coming out of the building to take pictures of us.
"There was people there from all over the world so I think they were all bemused to see this funny, British way of celebrating the end of the pandemic."
Photos show Colin and Sadie posing in the nude at Lands End, Edinburgh Castle and the Angel of the North as they stopped for snaps on the 837-mile route.
They have also received an "overwhelming" amount of positive support since they started their journey, including people giving them lunch or a place to stay for the night.
Colin said: "The majority of people will pip their horns and wave or laugh at us.
"We get people who overtake us, turn around and pull into the side of the road to take a video.
"I think most people can see we are not doing any harm, and we are doing something that's quite brave."
He added: "As we was coming up outside Edinburgh Castle, there was a coach load of Japanese tourists and we could just hear the uproar and the laughter.
"They were all absolutely rolling around laughing, trying to get their cameras out."
Colin and Sadie embarked on their journey to raise money for mental health charity Mind and Rewilding Britain, which aims to tackle climate emergency, where they have raised over £3,000 so far.
The pair has no plans yet to do another nude tandem bike ride, but would like to organise one where members of the public can ride with them.
