Naked Attraction fans were perplexed during the latest episode of the show after a contestant voted off one of his options for what many considered a very unusual reason.
The controversial Channel 4 dating show is currently airing its ninth season – having launched to shock and horror back in 2016.
The show sees a singleton pick one of six nude contestants in the hopes of securing a life partner, with the winning pair going off on a date to see how well they gel once they have their clothes on.
During each round, contestants are voted off as the singleton decides what they don’t like about their least favourite participant as they whittle the contestants down to one.
During a recent episode, a contestant named Luca was hoping to find the woman of his dreams – but insisted she would need to have a perfect neck.
He explained: "She's got a lovely neck. Necks are very important. They're very sensual."
He added: "Yellow's get a very nice neck. I think kissing and caressing the neck is quite nice."
But when it came to inspecting the woman in the blue pod,Luca said: "She has a lovely smile but her neck doesn't draw me in."
And things were worse for the woman in the green pod who he eliminated, saying: "Her neck isn't that appetising. It's not what I really go for."
Viewers were unimpressed by Luca vetoing women based on their necks.
Taking to Twitter, one fan wrote: “Honestly, he's giving off weird vibes with this neck obsession, lucky escape green. #NakedAttraction."
Another added: "Neck fetish... get out."
And a third tweeted: "Did he just say that 'Her neck isn't really that appetising. It's not something I'd really go for'. Ok mate Lol."
Since the show first began airing in 2016, some TV fans have petitioned for the show to be axed.
One viewer raged online: “Why on earth is Naked Attraction a thing? Honestly I’m sex positive but someone needs to cancel this s**t.”
Others questioned how the show ever made it to air in the first place, with one tweeting: "That time of night where it’s too late to start anything so you just watch 15 mins of Naked Attraction filler and still can’t believe it exists."
And another remarking: “Still cannot believe #NakedAttraction got commissioned!”
But show host Anna Richardson has defended the controversial and divisive show, saying that it can help contestants boost their confidence.
She said: "As much as it's funny, and we laugh along, there's a much deeper meaning to being naked which is about acceptance, identity and individuality.
"I must have seen thousands of naked people, who are absolutely cool with themselves and who are like 'This is who I am,' and that's very liberating.
"There's something great about being able to look at ordinary bodies, while you're like 'Actually my body's not so bad, I look a bit like that'. It's about acceptance."
