The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) national president N. Chandrababu Naidu has squarely blamed the State government for the people experiencing a ‘hellish time’ due to long hours of unscheduled power cuts.
Mr. Naidu, in tweets on Thursday, criticised the government for not being able to come to the rescue of pregnant women in maternity hospitals who were suffering due to untimely power cuts. “What answer does the Chief Minister have for the pregnant and lactating women who are suffering in maternity hospitals?” he asked.
Mr. Naidu sought to know who was responsible for the State slipping from a surplus power situation into an ‘unprecedented deficit’ now. A State which once was aglow with abundant power was now pushed into darkness and blackouts, he said.
The former Chief Minister alleged that Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy was behaving like the oppressive Emperor Nero of Rome but not like an elected Chief Minister for A.P. people. The Chief Minister was celebrating when people were going through hellish power cuts, he alleged, adding, the government was wastefully spending huge public funds in the name of felicitating volunteers. Over ₹233 crore was being spent for this ‘wasteful festival’, he said.
